First real setback

Last weekend, that of the Charnwood Hills race, I experienced my biggest work related nightmare – disk problems on my webserver. This meant that keeping on track with my training schedule was going to be a real challenge. And so it turned out; work load, stress levels and lack of sleep meant that the motivation just wasn’t there. I managed to get out on Tuesday and again on Saturday, totalling 18.5 miles. But this was in a week where my target was 37 miles, so I was some way short.

The Saturday run was a good one along the Grand Union Canal, despite the poor weather and it showed signs of getting back to normal, so a tough week ended on a better note.

Week summary
Target = 37 miles
Monday – enforced rest
Tuesday – 6m interval training
Wednesday – rest
Thurs/Fri – rest
Saturday – 12.5m cross country
Saturday – rest
Total = 18.5 miles
